Who doesn’t dream of opening a bookstore? Okay, maybe some people don’t, but for me, the dream has been alive since 1998. I was 11 years old, sitting wide-eyed in front of the TV, captivated by the movie “You’ve Got Mail.” While it’s technically a love story, my young heart was more entranced by the battle of the bookstores. The charm, the mystery, and the sheer magic of a place filled with books left a lasting impression on me.
Since then, the idea of owning a bookstore has been a recurring daydream, though not without its internal battles. After all, with the rise of digital everything, is it even wise to open a bookstore? But I believe bookstores are special, and books—whether they’re printed on paper or read on a screen—are magical. We need them both, and that’s the heart of LitFoxBookshelf.
A Blend of Digital and Analog Worlds
LitFoxBookshelf is unique because it aims to blend the best of both worlds—digital and analog. We live in a time where self-published authors are flourishing, most of them in the realm of eBooks. I want to bridge that gap, offering a space where both traditional books and digital works coexist. I envision the bookstore as a bit mysterious, much like the used bookstore from “The NeverEnding Story,” where you never quite know where a book will take you. Because that’s what books do—they transport us to places unknown, sparking our imagination in ways nothing else can.
Our Mission and Values
At LitFoxBookshelf, we’re all about support, empowerment, and community. We believe in self-learning and the power of books to change lives. Whether you’re here to discover new authors, learn something new, or simply lose yourself in a story, we want you to feel like you’re part of something bigger—a community that values the magic of storytelling.
More Than Just a Love for Reading
What if I told you books and the written word were a religion/spirituality all on their own?
I love all books, even the ones I know I’ll never read, because I know they’re important to someone, somewhere. As a curator and part-time storyteller, my passion goes beyond just reading. It’s about what books offer—knowledge, escape, comfort, and inspiration. No matter the topic, if someone tells me they want to learn more about something, my first thought is, “There’s a book for that.” And I want to help them find it.
